Amazon Instant Video brings a new app to LG TVs with Google TV

Guest to the Google TV blog, Elisa Humphrey, Director, Amazon Instant Video shares how you can enjoy more movies and tv shows with Amazon Instant Video now available on Google Play.

Today Amazon Instant Video launched its Google TV application on 2012 LG models with Google TV. While all Google TV devices can access Amazon Instant Video through Chrome, this new application on LG models with Google TV gives you a richer Amazon Instant Video experience, with HD playback, Closed Captioning, Your Video Library, Your Watchlist, and Recommendations.

2012 LG models with Google TV (LG 47G2 and LG 55G2) are the first supported by this new application which includes all the Amazon Instant Video features in a redesigned experience. More Google TV devices will be supported soon.

If you own an LG TV with Google TV, you can install the Amazon Instant Video app from Google Play to access the Amazon Instant Video library of more than 140,000 movies and TV episodes. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can access more than 30,000 movies and TV episodes to stream at no additional cost. If you are already using the current Amazon Instant Video application, make sure you go to Google Play on your TV to download the update.

We are excited to bring this new Amazon Instant Video experience to LG TV with Google TV customers. Amazon Instant Video is now available on over 500 Televisions, Blu-ray players, game consoles, tablets including iPad and Kindle Fire, and set-top boxes.
